Scenic 21 leaves the Arkansas River Valley at Clarksville and climbs north, traveling over high mountain ridges that separate the headwaters of the Mulberry River and Big and little Piney Creeks. Along the drive, hardwood and pine forests are interspersed with old and new homesteads with a variety of abundance of wildflowers that pose for photographers and visitors at no charge. Scenic 21 is a refreshing change of pace for the north-south traveler from Interstate 40 at Clarskville to Eureka Springs through beautiful Boxley Valley on the Buffalo National River and is a mere 94 miles.
